How You Can Help

The San Jose State University Scholarships are completely dependent on local support. Please contact us to discuss how you can contribute to helping promising local young musicians build their careers.

Young Artist Awards

For 59 years, the SJMSC held this award from all over Northern California. Each year three Young Artist Awards were given to deserving local artists.

Past winners include:

  • Jon Nakamatsu, an internationally renowned concert pianist, in 1987, when he was just 18 years old.
  • Dan Levitan, principal harpist in the Silicon Valley and Marin Symphonies, was the 1980 winner.
